Michelin is one of the most influential, and notoriously secretive institutions in gastronomy. The awarding of a Michelin Star is a moment steeped in mystique and glamour, and of unimaginable gravity for chefs and restauranteurs.

A pizzeria has never been awarded a Michelin Star anywhere in the world.

Now a young Neapolitan chef hopes to change the impression that Michelin only awards “high-class” cuisine through his family’s humble restaurant serving the internationally beloved and democratic cuisine of pizza.
